Amaizin organic Gluten Free Flours

The demand for alternatives to wheat based flour is growing, which is not without reason. These flours are gluten-free, lactose-free and free of allergens such as nuts and soya and therefore a perfect fit for a contemporary, healthy lifestyle.

We proudly present you our three Amaizin flours, all packed in a fully compostable package.

Amaizin banana flour gluten free

Banana flour

Amaizin banana flour is made from organic green unripe bananas that would otherwise often be thrown away. Our banana flour is made in Peru and is called Musa paradisiaca. The unripe bananas are peeled, cut into pieces, dried and ground into flour.

The flour has a mild banana flavour and is slightly sweet. The carbohydrates contain a lot of so called resistant starch, comparable to dietary fiber. Banana flour is rich in potassium, calciumando vitamins A and C en can be used to (partially) replace wheat flour and other baking flours. To maintain the structure we advise to replace 1/3 of the flour in recipes with banana flour. It also works great as a thickening agent.

Amaizin cassava flour gluten free

Cassava flour

Cassava (also known as manioc, tapioca or yuca) is a root vegetable that grows in tropical and subtropical areas. Our organic cassava flour comes from a project in Brazil. The fresh cassava roots are grated, washed, made into a pulp and dried to obtain the pure flour.

Cassava flour has a mild, neutral taste that does not change with cooking or baking. It is free from allergens, contains no fat and many carbohydrates, many of which are dietary fiber.

In recipes for cooking and baking, wheat flour can be replaced by cassava flour but it absorbs 1/6 more moisture. The structure is looser and less resilient, airy.
